A bit of encouragement.
As I am reading through Ezra, these verses were referenced (in the foot notes) through out the reading. They are encouraging verses that aid in my perseverance. It makes me think more simply, like I may not be called to some grandiose thing where people acknowledge and praise me for my intelligence, I am more called to the simple act of displaying kindness, and displaying it well. Or the gift of encouragement, and encouraging well. I know people in this world need Christ and his gift of salvation to transform their life, but I also understand that people also need the simple acts of kindness and encouragement to realize there is people that care for them and are rooting for them!!
That's all:) Below are the verses that struck this thought.
1 Peter 4:10-13
God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as though God himself were speaking through you. Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen.
Dear friends, don't be surprised at the fiery trials you are going through, as if something strange were happening to you. Instead, be very glad- for these trials make you partners with Christ in his suffering, so that you will have the wonderful joy of seeing his glory when it is revealed to all the world.
Romans 12:6-8
In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.

This is wonderful. Thank you for writing it, Katie. Simple, yes. Easy? No. I feel encouraged though :)
