Decorating on a pretty penny? or frugal penny?

I am reading "The Fred Factor" and a few quotes jumped out to me, one at the beginning and one to end my writing purge... pg. 14- The truth is that we compete against our own potential everyday. And most of us fall short of what we are capable of doing or being. An excerpt from my journal on Sunday July 8th: I am not an interior designer, or a qualified, registered Interior Designer with the testing and certificate to back me up. But I am an aspiring interior designer that can achieve this status quo starting with my education and work experience. I get down in the dumps because I am not doing any of it right now. Like I feel like I am just procrastinating, missing opportunities, being lazy, not putting myself to use!! I get excited to help people with projects, but don't know how I can fit that in right now. I believe in patience and that I am at a transition period that is not permanent if I don't wish it to be. I think of, why do I have such an excitement towards the design/decoration of interiors and exteriors of homes?!? My answer is I LOVE HOUSES!! I have such a passion for homeyness, for the representation of each individual living inside, for order, for personality, for niceness, etc. I truly believe that our environment effects us and we always have the opportunity to create a positive environment, and many times the home is one area that is easily neglected. This is something that I am constantly working through in my own life, as I never have a perfectly manicured, picked up, orderly home. What I am working on and that I wish to get across to others, is that there are many simple ways to making a difference in the function and personality of the home that don't have to cost a pretty penny...just a logical frugal penny (my husband, Luke is a very frugal man...he is making me stretch my dollars until they rip into shreds. Secretly, I love the challenge). So let's keep an open conversation going...my home is my current design challenge, along with my parent's who are in the process of building a brand new home with brand new furnishings. I am working on a constricted budget on my house, and a more elaborate budget with my parents. The mix is quite fun!! I realize there are many people that need design/decorating 101 help and some having a pretty penny to spend, but some, like myself have a frugal one. I wish to help the two polar opposites. So let me know what your opinions may be and any design dilemmas...shoot my way!! The Spirit of Laziness

Good Morning! I come to you with the spirit of laziness on my heart. Here's my question, do you ever feel completely lazy? I'm sure many of you would raise your hand and say "yes", depending on the day or situation of course. I'm experiencing the feeling of laziness as I approach this dreary Thursday morning. Life is So Noisy

Life is so noisy. What I think I really mean is life is so busy, but saying it's noisy sums up more of the overall feeling to life right now. It is a pounding, reverberating headache that ceases to alleviate. It's 1 o'clock Saturday morning, and I had finally dozed into a dream when I heard the cry of my son, Leo. Instantly, I knew the cry. It was the cry for help, he had gotten sick. For a split second I squeezed my eyes shut hoping his cry would fade away, so I could enter back into the dream that still loomed in my head. But instead, I quickly shot out of bed, grabbed the trash can from the bathroom, just in time for his first rounds. Poor kid. Earlier, he had fallen asleep on the couch with a low fever and I had hoped that that would be all it mounted to. Again, poor kid. The thing about sickness is, once one person gets it it is a matter of time before the rest of the crew catches it too. Leo is the 4th to last to get this. Tidy House

March 12th, 2017 I just spent the whole day tidying my house. Not cleaning, tidying, like picking up everybody's stuff laying around the house. Seriously though, I love tidying. The picking up and putting things back in their place. Finding the missing sock and marrying it back to its lone mate, finding toys stuffed between seat cushions and putting them in their rightful place, making the kids bed and putting their favorite toy or stuff animal as the centerpiece of their bed, laundry is caught up, just the simple act of putting things back into their place. It's work, but it's refreshing the rest of the week knowing lost items were found, broken pieces tossed, and everything is put in its rightful place, at least for that  day. My floors still need cleaned, urine clings to bathroom toilets, tabletops need dusted, but everything is tidy. I feel like I can breathe more easily when I can see floor space or counter space.
