About this space

So, why am I here?
Among the world of Social Media, and bloggers, and writers, and publishers, and fellow creatives I am one in a gazillion. My mission is not much different than many writers. To build great content that compels readers to return, to think, to change, to listen.

Where I want to put my stamp is on the people in my local community.
Do you ever flip through magazines and wonder who that girl in the advertisement really is? She looks like a stick thin model, modeling that sizzling red lipstick (and darn she looks good). Every wonder what that girl's story really is? Apart from the modeling gigs, the photo shoots, the body obsessions, the fancy clothes, when that girl goes home, what makes her tick? Is she a mama? A college student? Is she homeless? Is she living with mom and dad? Does she enjoy doodling? Does she have a funky toe? Is she struggling with her identity, her faith? Is she lonely? Is she a he? You get my gist.

People intrigue me. People's stories influence me. Whether you are a magazine model or an average grocery store clerk, you have a story.

That's what this space is for:
(insert) Your Story.

In this space you will find everyday women (myself included), mainly in my local community of the Cedar Valley (IOWA) who are living their lives undramatic-ally. These are "Average Joes", "Little People", "The nobody's", the over-looked, the under valued people we don't bat an eye at, but that are making BIG differences in their community.

These people barely have platforms beyond Facebook, or Instagram.
They express their lives with small audiences like grandmas and grandpas, aunts and uncles, siblings, mom and dad, and close/distant friends on Social Media. They provide for their family, they are living day by day, paycheck to paycheck. These are our people.
These are the real people who occupy our spaces.

These people are true models. True trophy wives. True Midwest, hardworking, faith-driven women who impact their tiny lives in tiny, yet significant ways.

I hope you are encouraged and uplifted by their stories.

Enjoy!
