3 Days Overdue...

I am overdue. 3 days. Only 3 days, but 3 days seems like a lifetime when I have been lugging this mound in front me for 280+ days. 3 days makes me think how many more days will I be overdue. Will it be weeks?! Only two weeks at max they told me they would not let me go over. We have a doctor's appointment on Wednesday where we will probably set a induction date. I don't get excited about this at all. The thought of being forced to make this baby come out doesn't appeal to me. Even though I am doing everything told in the books to get this baby out. It still wants to come on its own timing, and I have to be okay with that because as a mother I want it to be ready when it's ready. Plus I want to roll over in bed or call Luke screaming "I'm in LABOR!!!" aahhhaaa I just think that would be so fun. Anyways, I am 3 days overdue and counting, trying to be patient, it's ONLY 3 days what is the rush??

Week 40

Image
It is a rainy day here on my 40th week of being pregnant. WOWzaaa as I look back to where I started it is hard to believe that I have been pregnant for 40 weeks and counting. I remember when I was just 6 weeks pregnant, then 13 weeks pregnant, then 20 weeks (half way whoohoo), then into the 30s. Now, it is about that time! I had a doctor's appointment today and there has not been much progress in terms of dilation. But the nurse poked around and asked if I wanted her to "strip my membranes", I thought-what the heck does that mean!? Well basically poke around some more and make me dilate (which at this point I had barely dilated a centimeter). I said sure! Anything to move along the process. After a bit of cramping and pressure she got me dilated to about 2 centimeters. As she was poking around, I was having increase in cramps and pressure so I asked, is this what labor feels like? She stated, this gives you a taste, but it is much more painful. Well, I thought to myself I...

Belly Shapes

Image
It is the time of anticipation. I am T-7 days (supposedly) from my due date. I am so excited to meet this little one and experience all the precious moments and all the pains. But as I look down at my growing bump and rest my hands along my abdomen, I realize I am going to miss this time of our baby being in my womb. It is such a beautiful, precious, impacting feeling when this something is rolling around, squirming and kicking inside of me! My abdomen changes into so many different shapes as baby is stretching out poking its little hand or foot way to the far ends of my abdomen making it look like a golf ball is stuck in my side. But I love this because I will try to grab it or just rub it to let baby know I want to hold its hand or tickle its little feet! In my head I am encouraging the little one, saying mommy is here, I can feel you!! Or when it rolls into a ball, its back pressing against my abdomen, which makes my whole right side raise into a ginormous off-centered mound. Luke a...

Just Hicks?

Today/ now I have been experiencing contractions..or just braxton hicks? Not sure exactly but I just wanted to record it. The baby is moving around like crazy, I can see my stomach shifting and raising and lowering, it is so cool! I have had to breath through a few of these hicks, but they have been decently bareable. I just feel the pain and get so excited!! Bring it on I think to myself. Okay, I am going to try to sleep it off.

Reflections during a sleepless night

Image
This is the second night in a row that I haven't been able to sleep. It is 5:20 am and I tossed and turned all night. Finally after laying awake for who knows how long, I am up writing about it. My state of mind is stressed, and irritated? It is weird and frustrating, but as I laid in bed tossing and turning my mind swarmed with the uncomfortableness I am feeling and all the to dos. A to do that has been in the front of my mind is the function of our bedroom/baby room. Having a design knack and a passion for functionality of spaces, the functionality of room arrangement has been something that I have been constantly playing with in our little duplex. I love finding new uses for our space and my goal is to find an arrangement that works best for Luke and I when this baby comes. I feel ridiculous that this is plaguing me so, seriously because I am stumped. Our bedroom is beautiful, I painted the walls a warm taupe gray that still offers lightness throughout the day, the large window ...

Another Opportunity of Silence

I sit here mid Sunday with another opportunity of complete silence. Just me and the comfort of my house. No electronics are being played or electricity being used (besides this computer). It is a moment that I am choosing to revel in and capture. Originally I thought to myself, self let's just relax on the couch and flip the tv to HGTV and relaaaaax. Well I am doing half that, I am relaxing in the same position I envisioned on the couch, but instead of being buzzed to hypnosis by the tv I am choosing to capture a moment of tranquility hoping for a different form of rejuvination to come about. I have captured this moment before, again a few days ago (Friday) while Luke was staying over with a friend out of town, and another time maybe a few more weeks back where it was the same situation- Luke staying over with a friend out of town. Luke is not out of town now, he is just dropping off his grandma back to his parents house. I decided to take a small snippet of time for silence and re...

Samsung Gem of thoughts...

Necessities. Today I got the Samsung Gem phone from U.S. Cellular. I went to U.S. Cellular to get a new phone because I slammed mine into a car door, which obviously, defected it. All I needed was a basic phone really, one that calls, has an alarm clock, and has a calendar. But it was only a $5 additional monthly charge to upgrade to a data phone with the plan that I am on. So, of course my eye and fingers drift through the different phones, playing with key pads and various touch screens, browsing the different apps and amenities. I came down to the Samsung Gem because it was the free phone U.S. Cellular was offering and being such the fragilest that I am (sarcasm, I am thinking of my husbands frugal nature that I am considering), I "settle" for this phone instead of spending $100-$200 on the Samsung Mezmerizrm clock, but check the weather for the next day. I can not only use my calender, but have it programmed with my email address so I can view my calender while I am check...
